The GHS is an acronym for The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards. This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.

Primary Chemical Name is the standard name assigned to a chemical substance.
ChemicalChemical Abstracts Service Registry Number is a unique identifier for a chemical and its synonyms. CAS numbers identify the chemical, but not its concentration or specific mixture. CAS Registry Numbers are assigned by the Chemical Abstracts Service, a division of the American Chemical Society. For more information: www.cas.org

We have assigned "ID numbers" (with 6 leading zeros or nines, e.g., 000000-xx-x , 888888-xx-x) or 999999-xx-x) for blends and chemicals that do not have CAS numbers. Is a seven-digit number (xxx-xxx-x) assigned by the European Commission to chemicals contained in three inventories:
EC No.
EINECS is the European Inventory of Existing Commercial Substances and its EINECS numbers are displayed as 2xx-xxx-x.
ELINCS is the European List of Notified Chemical Substances that was available after September 18, 1981 and its ELINCS numbers are displayed as 4xx-xxx-x.
NLP is the No-Longer Polymers category and its NLP numbers are displayed as 5xx-xxx-xPercent of chemical in preparation.

EU Hazard Classification Directive 67/548/EECHazard Symbols are used to classify dangerous substances.
Hazard SymbolsRisk Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "R" indicate the nature of the special risks, in accordance with Annex III to Directive 67/548/EEC (see Article 23(2)(d) Directive 67/548/EEC). The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning special risks, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the special risks.
Risk PhrasesSafety Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "S" indicating the recommended safety precautions, in accordance with Annex IV to Directive 67/548/EEC. The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning safety precautions, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the safety precautions.
Safety PhrasesSVHC is a substance (identified by the European Chemicals Agency) that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment. SVHC are defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (“the REACH Regulation”) and include substances which are:
SVHC?
1. Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic to Reproduction (CMR), meeting the criteria for classification in category 1 or 2 in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC or in category 1a or 1b in accordance with EC No 1272/2008This directive was recently replaced by the new EU regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
2. Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic (PBT) or very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) according to the criteria in Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation, or
3. Warnings
HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED, HIGHLY CORROSIVE. DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY. Causes eye and skin damage. Irritating to nose and throat. Avoid breathing dust. Use with adequate ventilation. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Wear goggles or face shield and rubber gloves when handling. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. This chemical is toxic to fish. Strong oxidizing agent. Mix only with water. Use clean, dry utensils and equipment. Do not add this product to any dispensing device containing remnants of any other product. Such use may cause a violent reaction leading to fire or explosion. Contamination with moisture, organic matter or other chemicals may start a chemical reaction with the generation of heat, hazardous gases and possible fire and explosion. In case of contamination or decomposition, do not reseal container. If possible, isolate container in open air or well-ventilated area. Keep out of reach of children. -
Acute health effects
From MSDS EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: Direct skin and eye contact can result in severe skin and eye irritation. Prolonged contact may produce irreversible damage. Inhalation of high concentrations can be severely irritating to the lung with potential systemic absorption and tissue damage. Repeated skin exposure may induce sensitization. -
Chronic health effects
From MSDS Prolonged skin or eye contact may produce irreversible damage. Repeated skin exposure may induce sensitization. -
Carcinogenicity
From MSDS No information provided. -
Handling information
From MSDS PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING AND STORING: Keep Products in tightly closed container when not in use. Store in cool, dry, well ventilated area away from heat and open flame. In case of decomposition, isolate container in open area, if possible, and flood with large amounts of water. OTHER PRECAUTIONS: Do not reuse empty container. Rinse empty container thoroughly with water to dissolve all material before discarding. Place in trash collection or dispose in approved landfill area. -
Disposal information
From MSDS Dispose of in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Incineration is the preferred method. Relatively small quantities of product may be neutralized as stated above, and if in accordance with local laws and the operators of the local sewage treatment plant; the neutralized material may be discharged into the sewer system. -
First Aid
From MSDS IF SWALLOWED: Drink promptly large quantities of water. Do not induce vomiting. Avoid alcohol. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention immediately. IF IN EYES: Hold eyelids open and flush with a steady, gentle stream of water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Get medical attention. IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably, mouth-to-mouth. Get medical attention. NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage.
